Today was tough. Way tougher than expected. Why? Well here goes….
The route was marked has “hard” taken from a fairly tame website, but we didn’t take much notice of that. It’s proper winter with snow and everything, and the conditions under foot were likely to be difficult, but we didn’t take much notice of that. A lot of the route involved going off-piste, using basic navigation skills, when visibility was pants, but we didn’t take much notice of that either.
Hey ho, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, and I don’t think I’m dead? Or am I? Am I writing this from some sort of Stella infused grave (obviously heaven)?
The walk in was quite long 2-3 miles, but pleasant enough, as its fairly flat so a good warm up....

Once at the end of the valley, a sharp left turn is required to go off the beaten track (well any track to be honest) and head up the flanks of Yr Elen....
